Autism Awareness Day 2018

Autism Awareness Day @ Mitr Cafe
Fabulous, melodious, energetic, empathetic, action-packed, funtastic, inclusive evening at Mitr on Sunday, April 1, to commemorate Autism Awareness.
We started with a rocking concert by Tuning Folk... well, four-fifths of them... Monali, Jaideep Vivekanand, Divakar Subramaniam and Karthik Ananth! Kept the crowd humming and clapping along with their eclectic mix of rock, pop, folk, and popular Hindi and Tamil numbers.
We had an art exhibition by Sanjay, one of the students of SCAN's A Brush With Art (ABWA) program at Mitr, curated by Vimal Balachander and Sanjay's mother Rajeshwari Sivaramakrishnan.
A contest, based on one of Sanjay's drawings, which attracted a lot of entries... finally won by Sowjanya!
Caricature portraiture by Ramaiah was a big draw - he was kept busy at the easel till the very end!
A surprise act was Vidhya rendering a few pop numbers to enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Plenty of tasty treats - bhel puri and pani puri by Aarya, Aadithya and their mom Jayanthi Anand. Lots of goodies from Ramya Venkatraman & Hari, Ditta and Mini Hari.
All in all, a fantabulous evening of music and art, fun and laughter, companionship and good food.
